CTN was awesome! had to use the creative energy picked up over the weekend at a quickstudy workshop the very day i got back from burbank.

midterm madness

yikes! i'm drowning in paints, sleeping in paints, eating paints...here's a glimpse of my progress for figure studio's midterm, i'm only on stage 2 out of 458 >_<

prepping the wood canvas took awhile, laid layers of matte medium and a thin coat of clear gesso. This is by far the biggest canvas i've worked on with oils, 30x24
and that's not even the challenge!

life has been pretty hectic, I have been working on a secret project for months and it's finishing in about a week, would love to show and tell on my blog but i've been sworn to secrecy on this :P

WIP portrait assignment for a narrative illustration class. i decided to pick edie sedgwick, the poor little rich girl as the subject, played up with secondary images of the men in her life in the 60s. now it's time to put some paints down!

HOORAY! I'm finally get to take a class from the master, ZhaoMing Wu! It has been couple of years since I had turp in my nostrils... I'm out of practice :( but hopefully I'll be able to produce better work at the end of this year!

i am

back... into GRAD SCHOOL!!! Apologies for the lack of posting, if anyone of you are still following my humble blog... Lots have happened during the span of 2008 and rolled into 2009, but I'm really excited to have matters resolved. With the help of very kind people and sponsors I'm able to refine my skills back at AAU.
THANK YOU for believing in me!

The rest of 2009 is going to be a busy one as a tutor at AAU, so why not post a piece of one of my old classwork in Color & Design, all done in gouche for the amusement of my students :D

and... the Yoga Studio which I practice at and also volunteering at has kindly offered their wall space for a showing of my work sometime this year =) I'm keeping my fingers cross for that and promise to post an update soon!

I am truly grateful, really.

tomato twins webisode

a piece i worked on when i was an animator in Singapore. Towards the end of the 26 episode that i was an assistant director on, i was given a chance to direct and animate my own webisode for the series Tomato Twins, a television series featured on Nickelodeon Asia. When was that? 2002 i guess..
