I like the clean color and separation of color you have applied in the closeup. it might be nice to include some of that type of edge into the background, like surround the form with intricate linework as an example, but linework that is painted as edges?- don't know, nice stuff though.

Todd: yeah.. i was going towards a more graphic look for the background.. hopefully i'll get to post an update soon!
